It's a Beautiful World Beyond Deception

The weather is appalling. Cold and wet and sleep-inducing. I've decided to spend the day lazing about at home. The evening, however, is bound to be more upbeat, since we're having a farewell party for Yandex who's leaving for Japan at the end of this week. His father got a job there and Yandex is going with him. It's for an indefinite period of time, so I'm not sure when we're going to see him next, but I certainly hope we'll keep in touch. This party looks promising, if only because it is somewhat a gathering of the members from all of my gangs: the uni mates (such as Yandex himself, V and a couple of blokes from a parallel faculty that Yandex is friends with), the Carcrash mates (Andy if he's in town, Arnie, and Cass with her new sweetheart - yes, again!), old classmates (in the form of Vadim only, fortunately) and old groupies (in the form of Greg). I pity the city tonight. XPP It's bound to be a smashing get-together. Thanks to Erin, I've seriously overdosed on Fry and Laurie today. These guys are a-fucking-mazing! Erin found a way to shock me yet again (and here I thought nothing could anymore). She said she could never really tell the difference between British and Australian accents. That's scary. XPP And I know I'll be dead for having mentioned this, darling. ;)

I haven't used public transport for ages, at least when I'm alone. XPP But today there's this action, no cars (rubbish, of course, since everyone seems to be driving all the same), so I decided to go by bus. V and I needed to go to Arnie's place. That was fun. XPP Double standards ftw! There were two girls (friends, I think, not a couple; they were discussing some guys), sitting on the seat ahead of us. One of them put her head on the other one's shoulder, and they also held hands. No one seemed to pay any attention whatsoever. We decided to test the waters, and V put his head on my shoulder and took me by the hand. People started staring about 2 seconds later. Some grannies even whispered. That says a lot, doesn't it? We kissed right before getting out and I could swear I heard someone gasp. The girls, on the other hand, looked back on us a few times. V claims they are yaoi fangirls.

I'll never listen to the Beatles again... Blame it on Arnie. He dug up his collection of MP3's and we sort of had a Beatles marathon all night long. XPP Other than that, life has been boring. Shocked the voyeur Granny again. Met up with Vadim... oh, that was even funny. ( Musing and music )

Rejoice, my sweet alter ego: I'm not smoking! Tbh, I'm half out of the emo zone with a prospect of my life getting back to normal soon enough. I don't drink every evening anymore, I don't do drugs, I don't bitch and whine so much... Hell, can I get a white picket fence, a pink-washed cottage in the suburbs, a paragon of American 50-s wife and 2 creepily awesome kids? Just kidding... It's the withdrawal. Sick humour, sorry. The telephone story (I bugged Angel to give me Stan's new number and then she and Erin bugged me if I was gonna call him) unfolded quite unexpectedly. A few days ago I got a sudden call from Stan and he was like: "I know you asked for my number! Well, you got it. Why didn't you call!?" Huh! I knew he'd miss me. But I honestly wasn't gonna call him. It was just for safekeeping. Believe me? No? Right you are, then))) *grins like a happy crocodile* Forget that crocs don't grin. If I sound a little bipolar, that's because I tired and slightly overjoyed. That's what you get when you overdose on pizza at Uncle Sam's cafe together with Yandex, his new girl, a couple of guys from Chinese and V. That poor cafe has never known such a monstrous invasion of a group of exhilarated linguists arguing over what's cooler: Jap or Chinese. 'We got the kana, baby, we got the kana.' - 'We got the tones'. - 'Yeah, but we sound sexier!' - 'Our writing is creepier, no one understands it!' - 'Yeah, suckers, not even you.' We can be such nerds.

I met Vadim today and we went shopping for my school-year =D It was kind of fun because we raided Gorbushka, several bookshops and Sbarro. Pizza kicks ass! Any pizza. Don't know when I've become such a pizza-addict. Vadim's seeing someone now, btw. Well, that's nice. I do hope his unrequited feelings for Angel are gone. That was maddening. I don't say she doesn't deserve it, but he sure as hell doesn't deserve unrequited love. The new girl's name's Olga (if I'm not mistaken). He showed me a pic. She's nice. As long as he doesn't marry her and have 5 kids. I must be too overprotective, or I'm just too used to judging people by my own standards. It is I who always wants smth unpredictable and superb. But he really shouldn't. I mean, he's a shrink, she's a shrink... Their kids would be the kids of 2 shrinks! Isn't that horrible? They would lecture each other all the time and try to get into each other's heads. And they would experiment of the kids as well. Yikes! I've practically finished reading Naruto. It got me hooked, I must admit. Now I have this ridiculous desire to watch something melodramatic. Maybe Titanic. Or smth like that. Or even Brokeback Mountain. My new goal is Tunisia. Not only it's a huge conspiracy centre in X-Files, but it's also (and above all else) a sacred place for a Star Wars fan. Several SW films were filmed in Tunisia. The funniest thing is that the design of those places remains in fact unchanged. It looks pretty much like Anchorhead or Mos Eisley. So maybe I could go there in winter... Tunisia doesn't seem really expensive. Besides, I could ask Chloe for a Christmas present. Btw, looks like I haven't been to Star Wars official site for a long time. It's changed the design --> http://www.starwars.com And finally, to the fans of anime and Hayao Miazaki: this is a cool mini-film called "On Your Mark" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3BATU4v0yA - and believe me, it really rocks. It's just music and video, nothing much of the plot, but it's one of my fav Miyazaki's works. Looks like the version they have on YouTube is the full one.

I feel so lazy. Smiling like the Cheshire cat again. Somebody turn off the damn sun! "It burnsss usss!!!!" Lucky for all of us V has air conditioning at home. Seen POTC: At World's End. I got really bored at night it premiered and Kenny and I went to see this splendid 3 hours long movie after midnight. Kenny nearly fell asleep there. But he's a Johnny Depp fan (who isn't???) so he forced himself to watch. I should say I liked it much more than the second one, though The Curse of the Black Pearl is still undoubtedly the best! But even the Lizzie Sue (as my friend called her) wasn't that annoying. And my heart is with Davy Jones. The guy's smashing! Then we drove home and it took us another couple of hours, so next day I was really dead. I tried looking for the damn job again, but I found nothing I'd like and I still have some money Chloe gave me. Oh, well... There was supposed to be gay parade today but it's banned and well, it's gonna be a 'slaughter-house', so to speak. Police and all that stuff. They wanted to arrange a marching somewhere around the city-hall if I'm not mistaken. Personally I think it's meaningless. Guh, they already arrested some of the activists. Remember South Park: "being an activist is totally gay!" ;))) I don't get the point of all those parades and marches. If they want to do it, let them do it, but it only draws more attention to the shitty homophobes who fight against it. Frankly speaking, I couldn't care less if they did their marching or not. Geez, there're also a lot of skinheads, religious freaks and stuff. Settle down, ppl, if God created gay ppl, somebody needed that! My company is V, a big bowl of peaches, whipped cream and soon-to-come Yandex. That's a problem of course, he's not really into our perversed PDA. ;) Star Wars turned 30 years old. To celebrate it, I decided to run a marathon and watch all 6 episodes at once. Don't try to repeat that!!! It's salto mortale, damn it. The next film in my to-watch-list is Blades Of Glory, June 7. P.S. Please, Muad'Dib, give me a thunderstorm!!!

Nothing can stop the coming of summer. I can't even be worried about exams because I feel overjoyed and oddly cheerful. Sun, green trees everywhere... We had two lessons today, and it was more dumb fun-making that actual studies. Then V and I went to the Vorobyevy mountains and hung out there for some time. And then - by the river, by boat. I don't feel like studying at all these days. It's much too peaceful and beautiful to spend the day indoors, be it school or home. V's parents seem to get along pretty well, but I told him that he could stay with me as long as it was necessary. Just in case. ;) Erin calls Kenny 'the QaF boy'. Very funny! =D Anyway, it's Monday and I'm waiting for V to come. Our lessons will be over soon cos the exam's drawing near. Can't say I'm upset: I have plenty more reasons to make him bear with my presence!

No sleep tonight. At all. Oh yes. My insomnia is back again. It has only been 1 day but I recognize the symptoms. I haven't seen this fairy guest since I was 15 or 16. So I took a walk about the city. Been to the cinema, seen Hannibal Rising and then that movie with Di Caprio without a diamond. I'm not too keen on details cos seeing 2 films in a row is pretty much chaotic, especially late at night. But it was fun! Well, that guy who plays Lecter is okay but Hopkins's better. That's natural, of course. Of course, I didn't expect much. But I like his face, it's evil. And Leo is cool but the voice that dubbed him was revolting (as well as the voice that dubbed Hannibal-guy) but I was far from Kievskaya so I couldn't get to America Cinema. Nexttime I will, for sure. Then I went to have pizza. It was cold before I reached my table with it and somewhat sticky in places. That's weird. It usually get cold quickly if you have to stand in a line but there could possibly be no line at night. As far as I remember. Then I went for another walk and the tube was closed so I couldn't get home. It's really cold at night in winter, you know. I'd better suffer sleep problems in summer. Early in the morning I finally got home. I went to the supermarket, bought some food and watched Spiderman 2 on DVD - this time, thanks God, in English. And I thought Toby Maguire's voice was boring and maybe it should be dubbed. I'm such a controversial person. Then I turned MTV on and turned it off in a minute after I saw some Russian pop band which is revolting. Lucky me, I always tend to turn the telly on to something totally inappropriate for my poor ears. I had breakfast and now I'm typing this and planning what to do next. My eyes are stinging and I keep yawning all the time but I know if I go to bed I won't fall asleep anyway. That's me.
